Work safety
Health protection at work and the motivation of the employees
and the contractors to observe the rules of Health protection are the
fundamentals of the success of Česká rafinérská. The issues of safety and the
protection of health on the job are integral to the business activities of
Česká rafinérská.
Work safety and health protection is always at the forefront and
is central to the company management’s concerns. Within Česká rafinérská the
Central team for safety and environmental protection, made up of
representatives from the company’s individual production processes, is charged
with monitoring and reviewing matters concerning work safety, employee health,
and environmental protection. Tasks set by the team are
assigned to safety
‘sub-teams’ of employees or to the joint safety team, which also bring in the
contractors.
The company has set up a safety monitoring system. Every
employee and contractor has the opportunity to participate in the system.
Although monitors do of course report mistakes that are made, employees are not
punished for them. This monitoring is regularly evaluated, any problems with
compliance are analyzed and steps to resolve them are taken.
Česká rafinérská’s focus is on identifying and tracking
potential accidents, by monitoring so-called near accidents and high-risk
situations. Actual accidents can be avoided in the future by investigating the
circumstances surrounding potential accidents and by learning from them. The
motivational system rewards employees who report such situations.
Another project that has been launched at Česká rafinérská is
the program for systematic improvement “Best in Class”, additional tools and
methods for supporting the effectiveness of maintenance and interrelated
processes.
Care of the health of employees has two main fields: health
protection and health support. The former involves primarily the fulfilment of
legal obligations and the internal standards of Česká rafinérská. The “Health
support program” in compasses efforts to have a positive impact on the health
of employees.
Employees take advantage of the exercise activities (swimming,
squash, skating, skiing, strength training, tennis) offered within the
framework of the employee benefits system Paleta and other forms of health
support (flu and other vaccinations, offers of vitamins, massage).
